About The Position
Arise is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and patient Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work one-on-one with a bright and friendly young lady with cerebral palsy. She has limited mobility and requires assistance with personal care, as well as support in participating in community-based activities that promote her inde pendence. In this role, you will support individuals in enjoying safe and engaging community outings (such as shopping, attending local events, and visiting parks), assist with daily living skills and community involvement goals, foster a positive and encouraging environment, and maintain clear communication with family members and the care team. We're looking for someone who is reliable and responsible, someone who can be counted on to show up with care and commitment. A positive and enthusiastic attitude is key, along with a fun-loving, easygoing nature. Patience and calmness are essential, particularly when navigating challenges or changes in routine. Most importantly, the right candidate will be genuinely compassionate, with a sincere desire to make a meaningful difference in another person's life.
Requirements
- Must be reliable, patient, and have a caring attitude
- Ability to assist with lifting/transfers as needed
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
Nice To Haves
- Experience of working with individuals with disabilities preferred
- Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities a plus
- A reliable vehicle and a valid NYS driver's license are required
