ARISE/EFR is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work in the Sandy Creek area with a young man. The individual is looking for a dedicated staff to assist him with increasing his independence both at home and in community settings. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with money management, volunteering, completing household chores and cooking skills. This individual is shy and may need reassurance when in the community or around unfamiliar people. Transitioning is difficult for him so alerting him ahead of time for when an activity will be changing will be helpful. He enjoys spending his free time playing video games. He also enjoys working with his hands and has several hobbies doing so. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, patient, and enthusiastic. Prior experience a plus but willing to train. Reliable transportation and a HS diploma/GED are required. Background check, fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by the non-profit agency. This individual is not a morning person so the earliest he would like to work with someone is 10am. Other than that, the schedule can be flexible as to the days and times. The pay rate is $25 per hour at 10 hours per week for Community Habilitation and $20 per hour at 10 hours per week for Respite. EFR is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Background check, fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by the non-profit agency.
