About The Position
FAR Inspections is seeking a reliable independent contractor to perform residential mortgage inspections in Lake County, South Dakota, and surrounding communities. This role offers the opportunity to earn supplemental or full-time income on your own schedule. As a Field Inspector, you will perform residential occupancy verifications, which involve brief, exterior visits to confirm property status and report on general conditions. The position offers autonomy in managing your own routing, schedule, and territory, with standard inspections typically requiring only 5-6 minutes on-site. You will determine property occupancy status, capture photos, and submit reports using mobile applications, maintaining a high level of reliability for territory coverage and deadlines. This role requires extended periods of driving and making numerous stops throughout the day in an assigned territory that includes suburban neighborhoods and rural stretches.
Requirements
- Reliable, fuel-efficient vehicle.
- Smartphone (Android or iPhone) capable of running mobile reporting apps.
- Computer with an internet connection and a printer.
- Strong time-management skills to meet deadlines without direct supervision.
- Ability to pass a standard background check.
