About The Position

The Refrigerated Order Selector is responsible for accurately selecting, palletizing, and staging refrigerated food products including meat, dairy, and produce to fulfill customer orders. Working within a multi-level warehouse storage system, this position uses an electric power jack and/or forklift to transport products throughout the warehouse and prepare orders for shipment. The role requires strict adherence to safety procedures, quality standards, productivity expectations, and inventory accuracy while maintaining an organized and efficient work environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 6 months to 1 year of Electric Pallet Jack (EPJ) experience.
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment while handling products averaging 35 to 65 pounds.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, and stack products weighing 35 to 65 pounds.
  • Ability to work in refrigerated and cold-storage warehouse environments for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work assigned schedules and required overtime when needed.
  • Company orientation and training participation required.
  • Must be able to perform all job functions safely and in compliance with company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Review work schedules and gather the tools, supplies, and Vox Audio Communication System required for daily operations.
  • Conduct safety inspections of power jacks, forklifts, and other equipment before use.
  • Operate electric power jacks and forklifts to travel through assigned warehouse aisles and storage locations.
  • Utilize order sheets and/or Vox Audio Systems to accurately locate and select products.
  • Manually pick and stack refrigerated food products from first- and second-level storage racks onto pallets.
  • Transport completed customer orders to designated shipping dock staging areas.
  • Verify order counts, record inventory information, and inspect products for damage or quality concerns.
  • Hand-wrap, label, and prepare completed pallets for shipment.
  • Rotate date-sensitive inventory according to company procedures.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas by removing empty pallets, cardboard, and packaging materials.
  • Inspect, stack, and transport empty pallets to designated storage areas.
  • Assist with trailer loading and order selection duties as assigned.
  • Perform general housekeeping tasks throughout the warehouse, loading dock, and trailer areas.
  • Replace or recharge equipment batteries and complete required vehicle inspection checklists.
  • Secure equipment and complete all necessary documentation at the end of each shift.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

  • Employees meeting performance expectations after the 30-day review may be eligible for an increase to $20.00 per hour plus a $1.00 shift differential.
