SEIU Catering Service Asst

Under the direction of the Catering Manager, transports catering supplies and equipment; assists in food preparation, serving beverages and clean up. SUPERVISION AND DIRECTION EXERCISED: May occasionally supervise student assistants. MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT USED: Motor vehicles (including 2.5 ton truck), hand trucks, kitchen and catering equipment (food warmers, dishmachines, meat slicer, etc.)
Requirements
- Requires the ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Requires at least 2 years experience in some type of food preparation.
- Requires a chauffeur's license and experience in operating trucks.
- Requires the physical ability to lift heavy items.
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods
Responsibilities
- Drives truck transporting catering supplies and equipment.
- Loads and unloads truck.
- Keeps track of catering equipment and notifies Catering Manager of any needed repairs.
- Assists in preparation of foods, arrangement of buffet or dining tables.
- Sets up and tends bar or assists head bartender.
- Assists in serving beverages.
- Assists in clean up.
- Performs other related duties as required.
