About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a SEDAS Senior Manager (Mechanical and Structural Engineering) (Level L) to support our all Programs team based in Everett, WA. This role leads the Structures Engineering Design and Analysis Solutions organization and provides senior leadership to first level managers in the areas of Structures software product management, software development, simulation/optimization technical excellence, and vehicle level loads. The position also provides coaching, career development, and growth support to first level managers. It leads a multi-discipline team of Structures analysts and Information Technology engineers to maintain existing Structures scientific software applications. The role partners with the Technical Fellowship, IDT&S, Digital Engineering, MSE Functional Chief Engr Office, and Airplane Programs to strategically lead the modernization of the Structures software and tools ecosystem. It also partners strongly with SMA/SDT/STE to achieve systemic functional excellence. The Senior Manager provides technical expertise, problem-solving, and general support to the Structures community. They are a management co-sponsor of the Structures Simulation & Optimization Tech Council and the Structures Software Tech Council, and they establish and lead scientific software quality and governance across the Structures community. This role ensures compliance of the Structures software suite to ITAR/EAR/cyber requirements, maintains personal and team technical currency, and communicates complex technical topics, policy, and strategic approaches down, out, and up.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • 5+ years of experience in structural engineering
  • 3+ years of experience leading or managing engineering teams
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
