Security Watch Officer
About The Position
The Security Watch Officer continuously monitors surveillance systems and situational-awareness platforms to help protect assigned organizations. The role requires attentiveness, critical thinking, and effective communication to detect, assess, and report potential threats or incidents. The officer also supports ESOC analysts by collecting and processing open-source intelligence (OSINT) feeds and sharing timely, accurate information for situational awareness and decision-making. Direction may come from the Watch Operations Lead, ESOC Operations Manager, ESOC Senior Program Manager, and/or Senior Director Special Projects. The position is full-time, hourly, and W-2, based in Las Vegas, Nevada. The schedule is Sunday through Wednesday, 2:00 p.m. to midnight, at $19.00–$20.00 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor surveillance camera feeds, sensors, and other security systems for unusual, suspicious, or unauthorized activity, and document incidents promptly.
- Identify, verify, and assess potential security events; notify supervisors, response teams, and clients according to established escalation protocols.
- Gather, sort, and process OSINT feeds from sources such as social media, news outlets, and public databases; flag information relevant to security operations and situational awareness.
- Serve as a communication hub between field teams, analysts, and decision-makers, relaying critical updates, alerts, and actionable information.
- Maintain detailed, structured, accurate records of incidents, system alerts, OSINT feeds, and actions taken, in accordance with security and compliance standards.
- Operate surveillance, alerting, and OSINT collection systems; troubleshoot and escalate technical issues.
- Support incident response by providing real-time data, situational updates, and actionable intelligence.
- Assist with periodic system checks, shift handovers, ongoing training and exercises, and compliance with operational procedures.
- Assist analysts in compiling reports based on surveillance and OSINT data.
- Complete other duties assigned by leadership.
