Requirements

  • Must be a Veteran, Transitioning Military, National Guard and Reserve Member, Military Spouse, Wounded Warrior, or Caregiver.
  • Must have the required skill set, education requirements, and experience.
  • Must be able to complete class and field qualifications necessary to be an armed Nuclear Security Officer.
  • Must be able to maintain qualifications for position.
  • Must be able to maintain thorough knowledge of plant and plant systems to adequately initiate and maintain sites defensive strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Protect the health and welfare of the public by defending the station against any act of radiological sabotage, attack, or theft of special nuclear material.
  • Maintain a secure perimeter for site access and egress and employee, contractor and visitor entry, as specified by procedure and the site security plan.
  • Perform search, patrol, and inspections in accordance with the Station Security Plan, procedures, and post orders.
  • Maintain qualifications for position.
  • Conduct patrols and inspections.
  • Monitor access to security areas.
  • Perform search activities.
  • Respond to threats and contingency events.
  • Perform equipment testing.
  • Act as a member of an Armed Response Force to provide physical protection of Constellation nuclear clean energy centers and evaluate adversarial actions to prevent intrusion and acts of sabotage.
  • Conduct armed stationary, foot and/or vehicle patrol (interior and/or exterior).
  • Control access and/or egress of personnel, materials and vehicles.
  • Monitor Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), plant surveillance equipment and alarm systems.
  • Deter criminal activity, misconduct, and safety violations.
  • Maintain and implement extensive NRC requirements and Federal/State Laws for site protection and protected area access control.
  • Participate in initial and annual formal training program to complete class and field qualifications necessary to be an armed Nuclear Security Officer.
  • Responsible for accurate documentation and record keeping, as required by federal and corporate guidelines.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of plant and plant systems to adequately initiate and maintain sites defensive strategy.
  • All other job assignments and/or duties pursuant to company policy or as directed by management to include but not limited to: (Emergency Response duties and/or coverage, Department duty coverage and/or call out, and positions outside of department in support of outage activities etc.)
