Requirements

Must be a Veteran, Transitioning Military, National Guard and Reserve Member, Military Spouse, Wounded Warrior, or Caregiver.
Must have the required skill set, education requirements, and experience.
Must be able to complete class and field qualifications necessary to be an armed Nuclear Security Officer.
Must be able to maintain qualifications for position.
Must be able to maintain thorough knowledge of plant and plant systems to adequately initiate and maintain sites defensive strategy.

Responsibilities

Protect the health and welfare of the public by defending the station against any act of radiological sabotage, attack, or theft of special nuclear material.
Maintain a secure perimeter for site access and egress and employee, contractor and visitor entry, as specified by procedure and the site security plan.
Perform search, patrol, and inspections in accordance with the Station Security Plan, procedures, and post orders.
Maintain qualifications for position.
Conduct patrols and inspections.
Monitor access to security areas.
Perform search activities.
Respond to threats and contingency events.
Perform equipment testing.
Act as a member of an Armed Response Force to provide physical protection of Constellation nuclear clean energy centers and evaluate adversarial actions to prevent intrusion and acts of sabotage.
Conduct armed stationary, foot and/or vehicle patrol (interior and/or exterior).
Control access and/or egress of personnel, materials and vehicles.
Monitor Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), plant surveillance equipment and alarm systems.
Deter criminal activity, misconduct, and safety violations.
Maintain and implement extensive NRC requirements and Federal/State Laws for site protection and protected area access control.
Participate in initial and annual formal training program to complete class and field qualifications necessary to be an armed Nuclear Security Officer.
Responsible for accurate documentation and record keeping, as required by federal and corporate guidelines.
Maintain thorough knowledge of plant and plant systems to adequately initiate and maintain sites defensive strategy.
