About The Position

The Embedded Lead Service & Project Technician serves as Premise One's dedicated, client-embedded technician at a studio campus near Beverly Hills, CA. This position is responsible for daily service delivery, preventive maintenance, system troubleshooting, and ad-hoc project support across the client's access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems. This role requires a highly capable and self-motivated technician who can work independently, manage competing service priorities, and maintain strong working relationships with client personnel and onsite service partners. As a primary onsite representative of Premise One, the technician must consistently demonstrate professionalism, responsiveness, technical expertise, and a commitment to customer service. The position may also provide technical leadership to junior technicians and assist with the client's ongoing access control hardware replacement project as service workload permits.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of relevant experience installing, servicing, maintaining, or troubleshooting commercial low-voltage systems.
  • Strong hands-on experience with access control, CCTV/video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Working knowledge of Lenel access control systems, including field hardware, control panels, system navigation, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience programming and troubleshooting IP cameras and video surveillance field devices.
  • Strong knowledge of relay logic, electrical circuits, control panel wiring, network connectivity, and system diagnostics.
  • Ability to independently diagnose system problems and determine appropriate corrective actions.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard tools and test equipment, including meters, network testers, and other diagnostic devices.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, wiring diagrams, riser diagrams, device schedules, and manufacturer documentation.
  • Proficiency with computers, mobile applications, ticketing systems, and industry-specific software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining consistent communication with Premise One and the client.
  • Valid state driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Lenel certification is highly preferred. Candidates without current Lenel certification must demonstrate substantial Lenel system knowledge and be willing to complete an approved certification path.
  • Milestone certification or relevant system experience

  • Bosch and DMP intrusion system training
  • Avigilon, Genetec, Software House, or Feenics certification

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Premise One's primary embedded technical resource at the assigned client location.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with client representatives, facilities personnel, security teams, and onsite contractors.
  • Respond to daily service requests and prioritize work based on urgency, operational impact, and client expectations.
  • Provide timely updates regarding ticket status, system conditions, scheduling conflicts, and issues requiring escalation.
  • Coordinate daily activities with the client while remaining accountable to Premise One's Service Manager.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, system inspections, device testing, and corrective repairs.
  • Support door hardware, field devices, control panels, power supplies, readers, locks, request-to-exit devices, and associated system components.
  • Troubleshoot control panel wiring, relay logic, network connectivity, field device communication, and system integration issues.
  • Verify that completed repairs restore the system to proper operation and meet Premise One and client standards.
  • Support ad-hoc installation and upgrade projects across access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems.
  • Assist with the client's ongoing access control hardware replacement project as service workload permits.
  • Perform device replacements, field hardware installation, control panel terminations, programming, testing, and commissioning.
  • Coordinate with approved subcontractors or certified locksmiths when specialized work is required.
  • Ensure door coring and modifications to fire-rated openings are performed only by properly qualified and certified contractors.
  • Coordinate with the client's designated low-voltage cabling contractor when new cabling or infrastructure work is required. Cable installation by this position is expected to be limited.
  • Test and verify all completed repairs, installations, programming changes, and system modifications.
  • Accurately document labor, materials, troubleshooting steps, system conditions, and completed work in the designated ticketing system.
  • Provide clear service notes, photographs, testing results, and client communications for each assigned ticket.
  • Complete timecards, service documentation, and project records accurately and on time.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend corrective actions or long-term system improvements.
  • Conduct pre-work site assessments and required safety checks before beginning work.
  • Follow all Premise One, client, OSHA, and site-specific safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and protect the client's facilities and active operations.
  • Complete work in accordance with applicable codes, manufacturer requirements, and industry standards.
  • Escalate unsafe conditions, system risks, scope conflicts, or quality concerns immediately.
