About The Position

JOIN OUR TEAM AS A SECURITY TECHNICIAN! Status: Full-Time, Part-Time positions available Schedule: We are currently hiring Security Technicians to support coverage during hospital construction. Schedules may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Your Work Matters How will you make a difference? We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Security Technician at Meadowview Behavioral Hospital (MBH). While we are actively building our team, Meadowview Behavioral Hospital is currently under construction and scheduled to open in early summer 2026. During the pre-opening phase, this role will focus primarily on onsite security and facility monitoring. Once the hospital opens, Security Technicians will be cross-trained to function as Mental Health Technicians, supporting patient care on the units as part of the treatment team. This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in security, behavioral health, and direct patient support, with the potential to grow into a clinical support role in a hospital setting.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in law enforcement, security, military, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in a healthcare or hospital environment is highly preferred.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license in the State of Illinois.
  • May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol hospital premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure the security of doors, windows, and gates.
  • Monitor facility grounds and interior areas to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances.
  • Contact law enforcement or emergency services when necessary, such as in cases of fire or unauthorized persons.
  • Escort individuals to designated locations and provide assistance as needed.
  • Document daily activities, incidents, and irregularities, including equipment damage, security breaches, or unusual occurrences.
  • Inspect and maintain security systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure proper operation and detect signs of tampering.
  • Providing continuous patient observation and supervision
  • Supporting a safe, therapeutic treatment environment
  • Assisting patients with daily activities and therapeutic engagement
  • Role modeling appropriate behavior and communication
  • Supporting the nursing and clinical teams in maintaining patient safety
  • Observing and reporting behavioral changes or safety concerns
