About The Position

Boxcar is hiring Security Team members to help keep guests and staff safe while providing a welcoming, hospitality-focused experience across its North Carolina locations. The role emphasizes communication, de-escalation, sound judgment, and professional action when a situation requires it. Security team members also support general floor operations when the door is quiet.

Ability to stand and walk during 8-hour shifts.

Nice To Haves

Experience in security, the military, law enforcement, or another high-pressure, people-facing job; experience is not required.

Responsibilities

Greet guests, check identification, and screen for weapons or outside alcohol.
Use conversation and de-escalation techniques to defuse tension in accordance with use-of-force and de-escalation policies.
Safely and professionally remove guests who are intoxicated, aggressive, or threatening others when necessary.
Communicate clearly with the team by radio and contact local police when a situation calls for it.
Work with management to preserve camera footage and complete detailed incident reports after incidents.
Help with floor tasks, such as bussing glasses and clearing trash, when door duties are quiet.
