About The Position

The Security Systems Technician supports the operation, deployment, and governance of physical security systems within the client’s global data center portfolio, with primary ownership of a standalone access control system. The position strengthens regional coverage, enables sustainable 24/7 operations, and ensures audit-ready access control governance in mission-critical environments. This position operates at the system administrator/technician level, requiring deep expertise in access control architecture, system health monitoring, advanced troubleshooting, and deployment support. The role partners with integrators and infrastructure teams and contributes to system design and validation. Responsibilities include both remote and on-site support, as well as participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3-5+ years’ experience in data center, access control, or critical infrastructure environments.
  • 3-5+ years strong hands-on experience with Lenel/OnGuard (or other related access control systems).
  • Advanced computer and technology use.
  • Ability to read and contribute to security system design documentation using tools such as Bluebeam.
  • Strong documentation and troubleshooting discipline.
  • Ability to take initiative, achieve results, and meet deadlines.
  • Reliable and self-motivated.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills a must.
  • All candidates must be willing to participate in Securitas’ pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.

Nice To Haves

  • Lenel Certified Professional or Lenel Advanced Professional certification preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with security system installation and commissioning (access control hardware, panels, readers, door hardware interfaces, and basic network connectivity) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support a dedicated Lenel/OnGuard system for data centers.
  • Monitor panel communications, database integrity, and system health.
  • Manage access logic, roles, and permissions, and validation workflows.
  • Capture and provide milestone video updates to document installation progress, commissioning/acceptance activities, and post-change validation as required.
  • Support upgrades, firmware, and patch coordination.
  • Act as Tier-3 escalation for Lenel-related incidents.
  • Assist with page-turn reviews of security drawing sets to verify scope, device placement, wiring/point schedules, and design intent prior to deployment.
  • Provide on-site and remote support for the Western Region (Oregon and California), with travel as required.
