About The Position

This position will be responsible for the installation of complex integrated security systems to include the wiring, equipment and programming of access control systems, CCTV, digital recorders, network recorders, fire alarm, intrusion and intercom systems for clients.

Requirements

  • Significant background (3+ year experience) in Digital & Analog Camera Systems, access control and intrusion systems.
  • Significant background (3+ year experience) of fire alarm systems.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Understanding of the function and design of Alarm Systems.
  • Experience with IP addressable security devices (2+ years).
  • Must be computer literate to include advanced TCP/IP networking skills.
  • Must be able to operate a company truck with an acceptable driving record.
  • Proficient with all aspects of and operation of JCI A.I. core card access, CCTV systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or 2-year technical school program graduate preferred.
  • An industry-recognized apprentice training program may be substituted for the formal education requirement.
  • Specialized training/ certification in the following categories: Intrusion systems DSC DMP Honeywell Vista Access Control (at least 3 certifications from the following) ProWatch C-Cure 800 or C-Cure 9000 Kantech Lenel CCTV (at least 1 certification from the following) Bosch Axis Avigilion CCTV- IP (at least 1 certification from the following) Genetec Honeywell Exacqvision Hanwha
  • Additional experience a plus: MCSE, CCNA, Surveillance Systems, Intrusion Detection Systems, Perimeter Intrusion Detection Systems and Security Gate Operators.

Responsibilities

  • Installation of complex integrated security systems to include the wiring, equipment and programming of access control systems, CCTV, digital recorders, network recorders, fire alarm, intrusion and intercom systems for clients.
  • Installing cabling, field equipment & control equipment enclosures in customer locations according to the national electric code, company, and customer guidelines.
  • Using electronic test equipment to troubleshoot complicated problems during installation.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittits, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
  • Readjusting equipment, repairing or replacing inoperative equipment and testing for operation.
  • Performing system checks for proper operation.
  • Planning, organizing and prioritizing work paying close attention to details.
  • Communicating effectively, orally and in writing, while establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
  • Analyzing information.
  • Working unsupervised to complete installation jobs and being self-motivated to complete jobs.
  • Completing and submitting all necessary paperwork related to job assignments.
  • Using hand and power tools to properly mount and secure equipment.
  • Feeding cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets; then positioning and terminating cables, wires and strapping.
  • Drilling holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, and floors.
  • Conducting End-User training.
  • Isolating trouble to a customer network, where applicable.
