About The Position

The Security Systems Engineer will design and quote innovative and reliable technology solutions by assessing customer needs and requirements. This role involves developing effective Security, VMS, and Access Control system designs that align with industry standards and customer expectations. The engineer will act as a technical expert in sales situations, consulting with customers, recommending solutions, and demonstrating products. They will identify key customer needs and produce solutions that best meet those needs, independent of price, while effectively communicating the features, benefits, and business value of the proposed solution. Responsibilities also include conducting site surveys to capture site conditions, device locations, and cable pathways for accurate quoting, producing detailed and accurate project documentation for the Operations team, and maintaining industry knowledge and required certifications.

Requirements

• 3+ years experience with CEC or similar company, working with low voltage security systems
• Industry technical certification such as ASIS PSP, CTS, NICET 2, or BICSI (if relevant to industry)
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Strong knowledge of communications systems, including audio, video, security, fire alarm, wireless, and data networks.
• PC proficiency is essential (Windows environment)
• Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• The employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers.
• Some light lifting of objects is required.
• Reaching, grasping and carrying activities also required.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• Above average intellectual ability and excellent judgment are needed to deal effectively with a wide range of problem solving and trouble shooting activities.

• strong working knowledge of Excel is preferred.

• Maintain knowledge of your industry/technology.
• Achieve and maintain required industry certifications in accordance with CEC policy.
