About The Position

T-Solutions is seeking candidates to fill a Security Systems Engineer/Specialist position at their Wallops Island, Virginia, station. The Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) at Wallops Island requires support in management, engineering, operations, and technical expertise for the activation, operation, maintenance, and engineering of equipment, systems, and computer programs. This support is crucial for all Naval Sea Systems Command and Program Executive Office, Integrated Warfare Systems missions and projects conducted at SCSC. SCSC offers live and simulated integrated warfare capabilities in a net-centric maritime environment, aimed at developing, testing, evaluating, and conducting fleet operations and training for the warfighter.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or Software Engineering from an ABET accredited or NCAE designated institution OR One of the following trainings: DAU DCWF WRC 451 System Administrator - Basic Playlist, CIN A-531-0767 Tactical Computers and Network Operator, NEC C28A Ship’s Signal Exploitation Equipment Increment Foxtrot (SSEE INC F) Maintenance Technician OR One of the following certifications: Certified Network Defender (CND), CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance highly desired, however candidates who are eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance will be considered. If the selected candidate does not hold an active clearance, he/she will receive a contingent offer. A start date will be established once an interim Secret clearance is granted.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from various work locations on base.
  • Must maintain the capability to communicate with their supervisor and/or manager when not in the office.

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise for DoD information systems security policy.
  • Plan, install, configure, and administer technology such as HBSS, ACAS, SEIM, firewall, patch management, and configuration management solutions to support security policy.
  • Implement and audit security controls in accordance with RMF Assessment and Authorization requirements.
  • Conduct periodic DoD Security Technical Information Guide (STIG) compliance audits.
  • Monitor network vulnerability/risk and implement remedies/mitigations.
  • Review proposed designs to ensure appropriate security is included.
  • Use available tools and scripts to reduce the effort to enforce security policy and audit compliance.
