About The Position

At IK Systems, we are seeking a Security Systems Design Engineer to create the design and documentation of integrated security solutions. This role involves working with access control, surveillance, intrusion detection, structured cabling, and more. The ideal candidate will have strong Revit skills, experience in low voltage system design, and the ability to work independently and set their own pace. This is a full-time position based in Victor, NY.

Requirements

5+ years of drafting/design experience, preferably in low-voltage security, IT and ICT building systems
Advanced Revit proficiency is essential, with ability to work in a BIM environment
Understanding of low voltage systems, including CCTV, access control, intercom, intrusion detection, and structured cabling
Knowledge of ANSI/TIA standards (568, 569, 606)
Hold NICET or alarm certification
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and proactively across departments
Valid Driver's License required

Responsibilities

Create and manage detailed Revit-based technical drawings for integrated building security, surveillance, intrusion, and electronic access control systems
Partner with sales engineers during proposal phases to develop system layouts, schematics, and riser diagrams
Collaborate with construction MEP and architectural team members in live online drawing sets
Interpret client requirements, field data, and specifications to produce accurate, code-compliant designs
Deliver submittal and as-built documentation in coordination with engineering and operations teams
Own workload and project timelines with autonomy, while collaborating cross-functionally to deliver successful solutions
