About The Position

The Security Support Services Manager provides technical and operational support for the Security Department and organization by administering security technologies, communications systems, alarm systems, and licensing programs. The role ensures system reliability, regulatory compliance, and operations readiness through maintenance, troubleshooting, reporting, vendor coordination, and training. To support emergency response planning, critical incident coordination, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. The Security Support Services Manager also provides 24/7 on-call support, assists with recruitment and onboarding, maintains department procedures and training materials, and serves as a key resource in protecting organizational assets, guests, team members and business operations.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record required.
  • This position is armed and requires possession of a valid Guard Card, Exposed Firearms Permit, and Baton Permit. (Will require proof of application and payment of fees if Guard Card and Exposed Firearms Permit not in immediate possession.)
  • Possess certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED (or obtains with 90 days of being hired).
  • Must pass Security Department’s assessment test.
  • 3 or more years of experience working with Mobile Management Services (MMS), Microsoft Access, Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Law Enforcement Records Management System (LERMS) or other data system.
  • 2 or more years of related experience, to include a thorough knowledge of security procedures and methods.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of computer programming, radio/data communications, data security, and emergency management.
  • Moderate to advanced knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio or other flow chart program.
  • Ability to manage projects.
  • Ability to train and coach managers at all levels within an organization.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and good organizational skills.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills, such as the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment.
  • Ability to analyze situations and act quickly and calmly, especially in emergencies.
  • Ability to work various shifts (night, weekend, and holidays).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before group of guests or team members of organization.
  • Must have a high degree of common sense, have the ability to resolve problems as they arise and handle situations without supervision.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to work in a professional high-pressure environment while demonstrating and maintaining good personal relation/people skills and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Performs administrator-level responsibilities for security systems and technologies, including system maintenance, user access management, troubleshooting, vendor coordination, compliance monitoring, reporting, equipment life-cycle management, and technology upgrades to ensure operational reliability, security, and effectiveness.
  • Collaborates with Security leadership and key stakeholders to develop, maintain, and analyze complex operations and informational reports, providing data-driven insights, and customized reporting solutions to support business and security objectives.
  • Tests, troubleshoots, and coordinates the repair and maintenance of radio communication equipment throughout the enterprise, authorizing vendor services as needed to ensure compliance with Viejas standards and operational requirements.
  • Assists in coordinating disaster response and contingency operations among various departments, Tribal government agencies, and local, state, and federal law enforcement partners.
  • Supports the establishment and coordination of command center locations and operations, ensuring effective communication, resource deployment, and collaboration with responding authorities during emergencies and critical incidents.
  • Assists in coordinating alarm system service, maintenance, testing, inspections, and repairs requests with key vendors, contractors, and internal personnel to ensure the continued functionality and reliability and security of alarm systems and related equipment.
  • Coordinates the issuance and management of security and gaming licenses.
  • Maintains training manuals, standard operating procedures, and reference materials related to new and existing software applications and technology systems.
  • Develops training materials, including exercises, presentations, visual aids, and user guides; provides instruction to officers and team members on software and hardware systems in classroom and on-site settings; and coordinates or recommends qualified vendors or outside contractors to conduct specialized training when necessary.
  • Supports Security Department operations on a 24/7 on-call basis, providing technical, operational, and emergency response assistance for security systems, critical incidents, equipment failures, and other department needs to ensure continuous operational readiness and business continuity.
  • Participates in recruitment, interviewing, and the onboarding process for Security Department personnel.
  • Exercises sound judgement, discretion, and professionalism in handling of sensitive, confidential, and proprietary information.
  • Maintains the highest standards of confidentiality and is required to sign, comply with, a confidentiality agreement.
  • Maintains full knowledge of casino policies and procedures, minimum internal control standards, regulations, and other applicable rules/regulations for documentation changes and training.
  • Ensures that a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment is maintained.
  • Adheres to all company and department policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelines
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
