About The Position

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Document Control Specialist in its Herndon VA location. The Document Control Specialist will have custodial responsibility for safeguarding and accounting of controlled documents.

Requirements

  • Must have a DoD Secret clearance upon start date.
  • Use of a document management system, such as SIMS, required.
  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in an inventory management related position.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining an organized and detailed inventory of controlled documentation primarily using a security management system.
  • Administration and control of documents that are received, transmitted, and destroyed as a part of working in a secure environment.
  • Conduct physical inventory of assets, identify anomalies, and initiate corrective actions in accordance with established procedures.
  • Review documents, media, or hardware to determine proper classification markings in accordance with the Information Security Oversight Office (ISOO), contract(s), or security manuals.
  • Input controlled media into material databases. Manage dispatch and receipt requirements for inspection purposes.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail to include hand-carrying shipments to local postal office.
  • Provide security briefings, debriefings, and awareness training for site personnel.
  • Review the details and requirements issued in formal DD254 contracts to support contract close out efforts.
  • Assist with the destruction of controlled items to include documents, optical media, and hard drives in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain proficiency in Industrial Security disciplines to include: Marking Classified Information, Derivative Classification, Transmission and Transportation of Classified Information, Safeguarding Classified Information in the National Industrial Security Program, Protection of Personally Identifiable Information, and Basic Information Security.
