About The Position

The Security Supervisor assists the Security Manager and Security Shift Managers in accomplishing departmental goals and objectives. This role ensures employee satisfaction by providing two-way communication, training, schedules, and timely performance appraisals. The ideal candidate exhibits sound decision-making, motivates employees, and possesses effective supervisory skills. This position provides administrative assistance to the Security Shift Manager, including scheduling and payroll. A thorough understanding of Illinois Gaming Board Minimum Internal Control Standards and Harrah’s Entertainment Internal Control Submissions is required. The Security Supervisor maintains and enforces policies and procedures to protect company assets and ensure guest safety. Responsibilities include monitoring incident reports for accuracy and efficiency, initiating investigatory processes when appropriate, and providing court testimony when required. This role also ensures the cleanliness, organization, and safety of various property areas and maintains knowledge of the hotel, community, and special events to assist guests. The Security Supervisor acts as a role model, coaches, and develops employees with a consistent, approachable demeanor, clearly articulating expectations. Adherence to all department/company policies and procedures, including regulatory compliance and ethical conduct, is mandatory. Other tasks as assigned by the Security Manager and VP of Finance will also be part of the role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years experience with Guest Safety, valet operations or other related casino experience required.
  • CPR/AED certification required (If not currently certified, must obtain within first 90-days of employment).
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver’s license with no outstanding moving violations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Ability to work a rotating shift with fluctuating days off.
  • Must possess excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Must be flexible to work all shifts and possess a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Must be able to foster teamwork and a sense of urgency in accomplishing tasks.
  • Must be able to produce a cohesive team environment while working with all levels in the organization.
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling guest and employee conflicts.
  • Must be able to speak distinctly and persuasively to others.
  • Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations.
  • Must have computer skills in Microsoft Office, CMS or LMS.
  • Must have demonstrated strong managerial and leadership skills in previous position(s).
  • Must pass the SuperLap assessment.
  • Internal candidates must meet transfer eligibility requirements.

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Security Manager & Security Shift Managers in accomplishing security and valet departmental goals and objectives.

  • Maintains knowledge of the hotel, community and special events in-order to accurately provide guest with information.
  • Acts as a role model and coaches while developing employees using a consistent, approachable demeanor and clearly articulates expectations.
  • Adheres to all department/company policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies in an ethical manner.
  • All other tasks as assigned by the Security Manager and VP of Finance.
