About The Position

As a Security Supervisor, you'll provide frontline leadership for our Security team, helping ensure a safe, welcoming environment for patients, visitors, staff, and the communities we serve. You'll oversee daily operations, support your team, and respond to situations that require sound judgment, professionalism, and compassion.

Requirements

Successful candidates bring strong leadership skills, sound decision-making, and the ability to remain calm and professional in dynamic situations.
Supervisory or team leadership experience.
Healthcare security, law enforcement, military, corrections, emergency response, or other public safety experience.
Experience managing sensitive situations with professionalism, discretion, and compassion while interacting with patients, visitors, and staff.
Conflict resolution, de-escalation, and crisis response skills.
Strong communication, documentation, and organizational abilities.
A commitment to teamwork, accountability, and exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

Determines, coordinates, and supervises daily staffing assignments and coverage levels to ensure efficient operations and appropriate response capabilities.
Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to Security staff, fostering professional growth, accountability, and a culture of teamwork.
Performs or assists with performance evaluations, corrective actions, and employee development to support individual and team success.
Assesses the quality of security services delivered and facilitates ongoing staff development and training programs to promote continuous improvement.
Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, protocols, and safety standards.
Performs Security Officer responsibilities as needed to maintain required service levels and provide leadership by example.
Leads the handling and resolution of complex security incidents, complaints, and operational issues, exercising sound judgment and effective de-escalation techniques.
Builds collaborative working relationships with clinical and operational teams to promote a safe, welcoming environment throughout the organization.
Completes reports and maintains accurate documentation related to incidents, investigations, and department operations.
Operates a motor vehicle while conducting MaineGeneral Health business.
