About The Position

As a Security Supervisor, you'll provide frontline leadership for our Security team, helping ensure a safe, welcoming environment for patients, visitors, staff, and the communities we serve. You'll oversee daily operations, support your team, and respond to situations that require sound judgment, professionalism, and compassion.

Requirements

  • Successful candidates bring strong leadership skills, sound decision-making, and the ability to remain calm and professional in dynamic situations.
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Healthcare security, law enforcement, military, corrections, emergency response, or other public safety experience.
  • Experience managing sensitive situations with professionalism, discretion, and compassion while interacting with patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Conflict resolution, de-escalation, and crisis response skills.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational abilities.
  • A commitment to teamwork, accountability, and exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Determines, coordinates, and supervises daily staffing assignments and coverage levels to ensure efficient operations and appropriate response capabilities.
  • Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to Security staff, fostering professional growth, accountability, and a culture of teamwork.
  • Performs or assists with performance evaluations, corrective actions, and employee development to support individual and team success.
  • Assesses the quality of security services delivered and facilitates ongoing staff development and training programs to promote continuous improvement.
  • Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, protocols, and safety standards.
  • Performs Security Officer responsibilities as needed to maintain required service levels and provide leadership by example.
  • Leads the handling and resolution of complex security incidents, complaints, and operational issues, exercising sound judgment and effective de-escalation techniques.
  • Builds collaborative working relationships with clinical and operational teams to promote a safe, welcoming environment throughout the organization.
  • Completes reports and maintains accurate documentation related to incidents, investigations, and department operations.
  • Operates a motor vehicle while conducting MaineGeneral Health business.
