About The Position

The Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day security operations at the Springer Tungsten Mine. This role provides leadership and direction to the security team while ensuring the safety and security of employees, contractors, visitors, company assets, and facilities. Working closely with the Health & Safety Training Manager and site leadership, the Security Supervisor coordinates site access, patrols, emergency response, incident reporting, and contractor security activities. The successful candidate is a visible leader who promotes professionalism, accountability, and exceptional customer service while maintaining a safe and secure work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Three to five years of security, law enforcement, military, industrial security, or related experience, including supervisory experience.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all required state security licenses or certifications.
  • Ability to pass required pre-employment requirements, which may include a formal background, physical examination, and drug testing procedure.

Nice To Haves

  • post-secondary education in Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience supporting mining, construction, industrial, or remote operations is preferred.
  • Experience with CCTV, access control systems, and incident management software is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, schedule, and provide daily direction to the site security team.
  • Ensure security coverage is maintained and operations run efficiently across all shifts.
  • Oversee site access control, visitor management, contractor entry procedures and ensure site guests meet the minimum safety requirements for on-site functions.
  • Conduct routine patrols and inspections to identify and address security or safety concerns.
  • Respond to emergencies, security incidents, and workplace disturbances, coordinating with regional emergency responders and law enforcement when required.
  • In emergency situations, will help run and coordinate the incident command center in conjunction with the Emergency Mine Response Team (ERT).
  • Investigate security related incidents, prepare reports, and maintain accurate security records and documentation.
  • Monitor the performance of security personnel and provide coaching, training, and performance feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, security procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Support emergency preparedness activities, drills, and business continuity planning.
  • Collaborate with the Health & Safety team and other departments to promote a safe, secure, and respectful workplace.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen security programs, improve processes, and enhance site security awareness.
