About The Position

This position is responsible for overseeing the Security Officers and ensures the safety and security of our employees, patrons and the company’s assets.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Three years of experience as a Security Officer in a high volume, complex casino environment or three years of experience in security or law enforcement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Basic knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge of Mohegan Sun corporate and department policies and procedures
  • Must complete the all appropriate Human Resources Supervisor Training courses
  • Understanding of Ascent, EmpowerTime and Manager Self Service systems
  • CPR, First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogen certification
  • SMART alcohol awareness
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations in a expedited manner
  • Possible exposure to unknown health and safety hazards and physical altercation
  • Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and counseling of the Security staff
  • Investigates and records all occurrences and incidents within the facility, including but not limited to, the gaming floor, retail area and hotel
  • Responds to complaints, ejections, medical and assistance calls, as needed
  • Detains persons involved in illegal activity and notifies the appropriate law enforcement officials
  • Ensures the accurate flow of information and communications between all levels including changes that affect the department
  • Assists with directing the staff regarding compliance with department policies and procedures, regulations and internal controls
  • Maintains department logs and paperwork
