About The Position

The Lovett School is seeking a Security Staff member to join their team. This role is responsible for maintaining security and order on school grounds, responding to emergencies, and assisting with special events. The ideal candidate will be at least 25 years of age, have a minimum of two years of security experience, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 25 years of age.
  • Have a minimum of two years of security experience.
  • Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Able to work overtime for after-hour events, when necessary.
  • Possess cognitive skills necessary to perform job duties.
  • Possess proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to deal with the school community professionally at all times.
  • Must be able to maintain a positive and helpful attitude in stressful situations.
  • Hold current Georgia Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily watch and patrol of grounds and buildings on foot and in a vehicle to protect against damage, theft, or harm.
  • Ensure building and gate security.
  • Regulate vehicle traffic and maintain orderly flow and control.
  • Ensure pedestrian safety at school crossways.
  • Complete all jobs on time.
  • Be aware of noise in and around classrooms and buildings.
  • Examine doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to security violations and reports of security violations.
  • Respond quickly to emergencies by safely directing people and coordinating with emergency response personnel.
  • Conduct and/or assist in security investigations.
  • Write reports upon completion of investigations.
  • Provide a visible presence at all special events and functions.
  • Check the logbook for events daily.
  • Secure doors in school buildings and gates as necessary.
  • Provide traffic direction and parking control during special events.
  • Hold a current Georgia Driver's license.
  • Check the condition of the vehicle prior to driving.
  • Report mechanical problems or damage to the grounds supervisor.
  • Fuel and maintain vehicles as needed.
  • Work when scheduled.
  • Begin and end work as expected.
  • Call supervisor when arriving late for work or when absent according to policy.
  • Have scheduled absences approved by supervisor according to policy.
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures set forth in the employee handbook.
  • Accept any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
