We are in search of a positive, high energy, motivated individual to fulfill a Security Specialist Level I role and become an integral part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team on the Space Coast of FL. The successful candidate will join one of our teams of security professionals chartered with the protection of Blue Origin people, property, information, and brand to include vetting access requests onto private and federal reservations, foreign national visit requests, processing/approving federal forms, and maintaining databases and metrics of physical security operations. The successful candidate will possess excellent communications, customer service, and organizational skills with the ability to work independently and collaborate with federal Badging Office employees. Description: The Security Specialist Level I is part of the Physical Security Team and coordinates with NASA and Department of Defense administrative teams to complete life-cycle access badging approvals onto federal reservations. The Security Specialist Level I will coordinate and complete security administrative work, including but not limited to badge application processing & management; Personal Protected Information (PII) maintenance; Foreign Visitor requests, database administration; and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to pass a NASA and/or DoD background check
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Proven self-starter with problem solving skills.
  • Ability to flourish in an environment with multiple and shifting priorities.
  • Demonstrated strong time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail, resolution, and follow through skills.
  • Applicants should have a general knowledge of physical security operations.
  • Applicants should be familiar with industrial and business safety.
  • Proven skills coordinating with subcontractors and vendors successfully.
  • Strong competency in all Microsoft Office applications, Adobe, and website content editing.
  • Ability to maintain regular office hours: M-F 7am-3pm.
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens or Permanent Residents of the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of Government, Law Enforcement and/or Corporate Security experience.
  • Experience with Federal Government security regulations.
  • ASIS Certification (APP, PSP, CPP).
  • Security Clearance a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Employee and Contractor sponsor for obtaining access badging onto applicable federal installations.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with federal (NASA, Department of Defense) badging offices.
  • Webmaster for internal Wiki regarding badging requirements.
  • Collect and safeguard federal forms containing PII.
  • Submit PII information into various federal databases.
  • Track badge request data and maintain throughput data for leadership trend analysis.
  • Manage oversight and auditing of badges to include reminders to expiring badge holders, recovery of badges from departing personnel, and interaction with Blue hosts requesting contractor access.
  • Serve as primary point of contact and liaison to NASA and DoD for Foreign National Visitor Requests (FNVR).
  • Perform quality control of FNVR forms, submit, and monitor progress from end to end.
