About The Position

The Security Specialist will provide a visible and proactive physical security and safety presence throughout the assigned supply chain location to ensure a safe environment. This role involves validating the physical security of the building, engaging with drivers, performing safety and physical security audits, conducting patrols, de-escalating situations, responding to incidents, and collaborating with leadership to enforce policies and procedures. The specialist will also report suspicious behavior, utilize a case management system for incident reports, monitor CCTV, attend safety meetings, and maintain required certifications.

Requirements

  • High School or GED
  • 1-2 Years Retail, security, first-responder, or military experience (or related field)
  • 1-2 Years Big-box retail, security, or military experience
  • Driver’s License
  • Security License

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice, Safety, or related security field
  • 1-2 Years Experience with detailed incident report-writing
  • 1-2 Years Experience conducting quality reviews/audits
  • 1-2 Years Experience in using physical security systems (CCTV, EAS, etc.)
  • First-Aid Certification
  • De-Escalation/Crisis Intervention

Responsibilities

  • Provide a visible and proactive physical security and safety presence throughout the assigned supply chain location to ensure Lowe’s Safe environment.
  • Validate physical security of the building, per company policy/procedure, throughout the day (Gates, Doors, Access Control, Perimeter).
  • Engage with over-the-road and dedicated fleet drivers including inbound & outbound processes in compliance with Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT).
  • Perform regular safety and physical security audits to ensure proper execution using hand-held mobile devices.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the interior and exterior premises to identify potential security concerns both on foot and by using a company-owned vehicle.
  • De-escalate situations involving associates, visitors, and contractors, using professional techniques.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to incidents, accidents, and emergencies, such as medical situations or fire alarms.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain leadership and associates to enforce policies and procedures.
  • Report any suspicious behavior, safety hazards, or security breaches to the appropriate Leadership.
  • Utilize case management system to complete detailed incident reports, including accurate descriptions of events, individuals involved, and actions taken.
  • Utilize CCTV system to monitor physical security and detect unauthorized activities.
  • Attend monthly Safety Team meetings to stay informed about updates, concerns, and procedural changes.
  • Maintain all required certifications and licenses as required by Lowe’s.
  • Participate in court hearings, if applicable. Update case files and maintain relationships with local Law Enforcement.
