About The Position

The Security Specialist role is crucial for maintaining real-time visibility into incidents across Marvell's facilities. This position is responsible for 24/7/365 monitoring of facilities, access control, and alarms, as well as triaging and escalating incidents. The specialist will coordinate real-time response with Facilities, HR, and emergency services, ensuring a safe and secure environment. This is a growing function offering broad exposure to various incident types and close visibility into security operations within a fast-paced tech company. The role plays a vital part in quietly monitoring conditions and ensuring prompt notification when attention is needed.

Requirements

  • Ideally 2+ years in a security monitoring, dispatch, or emergency communications setting (corporate GSOC/SOC, law enforcement/military dispatch, or call-center environment).
  • Ability to monitor systems, triage alerts, and follow established protocols with reasonable independence.
  • Proficiency with core dispatch tools: CCTV/video management systems, access control platforms, and alarm monitoring software.
  • Ability to operate multiple systems simultaneously during active incidents.
  • Comfort navigating incident-logging/ticketing systems and mass-notification tools.
  • Ability to accurately document and categorize incidents in real time.
  • Baseline technical comfort with monitoring software.
  • Must be eligible to access export-controlled information as defined under applicable law.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on comfort with CCTV/VMS, access control, or alarm platforms is helpful but can be built up quickly with training.

Responsibilities

  • Perform 24/7/365 monitoring of facilities, access control, and alarm systems.
  • Triage and escalate incidents as they arise.
  • Coordinate real-time response with Facilities, HR, and emergency services.
  • Monitor CCTV, access control, and alarm systems throughout the shift.
  • Log incidents and document them accurately and quickly.
  • Provide shift handoffs, covering open incidents and flagged alerts.
  • Communicate effectively within the GPS team for shift handoffs, incident notes, and escalations.
  • Occasionally communicate directly with employees or facilities contacts by phone during an incident.
