About The Position

This position is for a PART-TIME Security Specialist/HARPS Guard I with a weekend schedule and opportunity for on-call floater hours. The schedule is 6 am - 6 pm every other weekend. The role involves monitoring various security systems, responding to alarms, and maintaining logs within the HARPS/Information Desk Control Area. Training on specific systems will be provided, and the contractor will be responsible for training new personnel. The government will phase out systems that are no longer in use.

Requirements

  • Initial training for access control systems will be provided by a company representative.
  • Contractor will be responsible to train any new CP thereafter.
  • Must be able to communicate all information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Event logs will be documented in a professional manner utilizing appropriate grammar and punctuation and include all pertinent information covering the parameters of “Who, What, When, and Where.”
  • Event logs will be sent to Facility Management on a daily basis no later than 0800 hrs.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor all electromagnetic door locks, door contact switches, duress alarms and answer all telephone calls within the HARPS/Information Desk Control Area.
  • Monitor the Identipass, Genetech, and Premisys access control systems.
  • Operate, observe and evaluate CCTVs within the HARPS/Information Desk Control Area.
  • Use the Government provided radio system to notify the Facility Management staff and/or the base installation Security Forces on any alarm or police response situations.
  • Monitor operations and status of overall security network for the MTF from the centralized console.
  • Operate HARPS/Information Desk intercom system master station at the console to communicate with entry/exit points or incident locations.
  • Utilize overhead paging system to notify personnel of emergency codes and alarms.
  • Operate video recorder and playback at the request of Facility Management personnel.
  • Maintain security log and activate control devices for interior and exterior doors.
  • Receive transfer calls from designated wing agencies and take messages or forward calls to appropriate agencies.
  • Report and initiate an action report log on any emergency situation and provide comprehensive information to responding agencies and Facility Management staff when appropriate.
  • Maintain up to date roster of on-call and emergency contact personnel for required areas.
  • Report to an appropriate authority (DCS Supervisors, Security Forces, and Facility Managers) any information or circumstances, which may pose a threat to the security of DoD personnel, contractor personnel, resources, and classified or unclassified defense information.
  • Maintain Chronology of Events, Access Control logs and Alarm Reports at all times.
  • Perform and document physical checks of assigned buildings, rooms and areas when electronic systems are degraded.
  • Perform manual fire watch procedures when fire alarm systems are down.
  • Perform checks of controlled areas such as pharmacies when Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) are degraded.
  • Act as the information focal point for all medical groups' personnel, patients and visitors on all resource protection activities and the liaison on these issues to the facility management office.
