About The Position

Join Apple’s Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) organization as a Security Software Engineer. IS&T is responsible for customer-facing technology systems and internal operations, supporting billions of active devices and secure transactions. This role is within the Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) team, which delivers global-scale platforms and services to secure Apple's operations. ETS manages identity, device security, and anti-abuse platforms, covering manufacturing, repairs, software updates, and activations. The team also oversees supply chain, manufacturing, and partner integration platforms, protecting data on over 2.5 billion devices. ETS is crucial for managing systems that ramp factory production during global product launches, including serial numbers, network credentials, and verified software. Apple values innovation driven by diverse people and ideas, and this role contributes to crafting solutions that revolutionize industries and leave the world better than found.

Requirements

• 3 - 12 years software development experience (Java, C++, etc.)
• 3 - 12 years experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.)
• 3+ years modern CI/CD tooling and build systems experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent or foreign equivalent degree

Nice To Haves

• Solid understanding and application of computer science fundamentals
• Experience building, orchestrating, and deploying highly scalable REST based APIs
• Knowledge of PKI fundamentals and applied cryptography
• Proficiency with SQL and/or NoSQL database technology
• Understanding of performance testing concepts and tools
• Understanding of macOS fundamentals
• Knowledge of applied security concepts (authentication, authorization, OWASP Top 10 Risks, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain cryptographic services that support critical business functions.
• Protect Apple's sensitive information.
• Ensure the security, integrity, and privacy of systems used at scale across the company.
• Manage identity, device security, and anti-abuse platforms.
• Oversee supply chain, manufacturing, and partner integration platforms.
• Develop systems for ramping factory production, managing serial numbers, network credentials, and verified software.
