About The Position

Supervises security operations on an assigned shift. Maintains the efficiency of security floor operations by assigning duties to Security Assistant Shift Supervisors Officers, reviewing and monitoring staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage, submitting time and attendance documentation, communicating pertinent department information, guiding and coaching personnel on security policies, procedures, and mandated regulations, monitoring delivery and quality of post orders, service standards, Emergency Standard Operating Procedures, correcting out of compliance behaviors, coordinating activities for crowd control during in-house promotions, and acting as an advisor to resolve team member conflict. Develops team members by monitoring and evaluating performance, identifying training needs, conducting performance appraisals, and providing counseling, guidance and corrective action. Ensures casino safety by monitoring and correcting unsafe conditions, responding to dispatched calls, activating 911 calls, making tactical decisions in emergency situations, maintaining the integrity of major crime scenes, assisting law enforcement personnel, placing individuals under arrest, determining the need for exclusions and duration, and providing security coverage during special events. Promotes guest relations by remaining present on the casino floor, proactively working with other casino department managers and supervisors, screening and answering security inquiries, solving guest and/or safety concerns, and referring complex problems to higher management. In the absence of the Security Shift Manager, initiates hires, transfers, and terminations of department staff by communicating staffing needs and advertisement requirements to Human Resources, selecting and interviewing applicants, recommending final candidate selection, initiating progressive discipline, recommending termination, and generating appropriate paperwork.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • 2 years' experience in casino security operations
  • 1 years' supervisory experience (over 30 people)
  • Working knowledge of security rules, regulations, and procedures
  • Ability to evaluate crisis situations and make sound judgments
  • Ability to effectively communicate with guests and team members
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks and assignments
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language
  • Ability to compose written documents in the English language
  • Ability to complete forms, documents and written reports
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions
  • Ability to wear a radio earpiece and understand radio transmissions
  • Ability to accept constructive criticism
  • Ability to provide guidance and leadership to staff members
  • Ability to appear for work on time
  • Ability to walk and stand for up to eight hours at a time
  • Ability to work in a smoking environment
