Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age
Have an associate's degree and three years of experience in security
Pass any required training or other qualification
Be able to work a flexible schedule
Have access to reliable transportation
Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results
Be able to pass an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle
Be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if you were in the military
Be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
Demonstrate an ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public

Nice To Haves

One year of Supervisory experience is preferred
Five years of security experience is acceptable in lieu of associate's degree

Responsibilities

Supervise security associates.
Safeguard facilities and report any risks to ISM (Investigation and Security Manager) and Maintenance.
Conduct patrols of Organization property.
Fuel Organization vehicles.
Escort visitors as necessary.
Observe and assist in client care.
Maintain an accurate log of security activities.
Effectively communicate with visitors and staff.
Respond to all alarm calls promptly and communicate with emergency services.
Demonstrate understanding of program operations, and policies and procedures through the attendance of Orientation and ongoing training opportunities.
Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of CANOPY campus-based programs.
Demonstrate an understanding of the Organization's Code of Conduct.
Demonstrate computer literacy, at a minimum in Windows, Word, Outlook.
Follow all prescribed procedures and policies.
Complete and ensure the proper completion of various types of forms and documents.
Produce all required reports and data collection.
Utilize radio, telephone, copy machines, computers, and Microsoft Office applications.
Coordinate with campus-based management staff and employees to meet security needs.
Accurately account for temporary badges.
Perform other duties as assigned.
