Security Service Technician
About The Position
Johnson Controls is seeking a Security Technician who is a troubleshooter and service expert with knowledge and experience in intrusion, IP CCTV, access control, and fire alarm systems from multiple manufacturers. The role requires strong verbal communication skills to identify customer needs, inform them of repair processes, and ensure system functionality. The technician will inspect systems, provide reports, and offer solutions to building inefficiencies and service-related issues, acting as a trusted advisor to customers. This role involves providing the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service-related items, offering solutions and outcomes at the time of service.
Requirements
- 6+ years in low-voltage or security industry.
- Excellent general knowledge of major security manufacturer platforms including: Bosch/Radionics, Honeywell, Firelite, Silent Knight, DMP, DSC, etc.
- Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record.
- High school diploma or GED (General Education Development)
- Ability to pass thorough background and identity checks.
- Well Versed in Access Controls, CCTV, Burglary and Fire Alarms in Commercial Applications
Nice To Haves
- Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools.
- Ability to unload ladder from fleet vehicle and climb ladder.
- Ability to always operate fleet vehicle in a safe manner.
- Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service
Responsibilities
- Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring.
- Readjust equipment, repair, or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation.
- Coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies.
- Perform repair and/or inspections of intrusion detection, IP CCTV, Access Control systems and fire alarms (if applicable).
- Assist fellow service technicians with system repairs and complete minor repairs including battery replacement.
- Test operation of system to the customer monitoring center to properly establish service connectivity.
- Complete all forms accurately and customer paperwork as required.
- Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities.
- Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
