About The Position

The Security & Safety Monitor helps maintain a secure, compliant, and safe environment across the facility. This role monitors cameras, alarms, and access systems; controls entry to restricted areas; and ensures adherence to all safety and security procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must have no scheduling restrictions.
  • Extensive knowledge of security and safety protocol and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide training on security policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work with confidential and classified information.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to complete the OSHA 30-hour Safety Course within 60 days of hiring.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain/maintain all state-required cannabis badging, which includes a pre-employment background check.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license or state ID card.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor surveillance cameras, alarms, and access control systems.
  • Detect and report any unauthorized access, safety hazards, or security breaches.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents and observations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including fire safety, hazardous materials handling, and emergency procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and address any deficiencies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to implement safety improvements.
  • Verify credentials of employees, visitors, and vendors.
  • Control access to restricted areas.
  • Educate staff on security and safety procedures.
  • Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents.
  • Coordinate with law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
  • Provide first aid or assistance during medical emergencies.
  • Identify potential security and safety risks.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Stay informed about industry-specific safety regulations.
  • Greet visitors and provide information about safety procedures.
  • Address safety-related inquiries from employees and customers.
  • Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor.
