About The Position

GFT is seeking an Entry Level Safety & Security Analyst in Baltimore, MD! This role follows a hybrid-remote work model and requires the candidate to reside within a commutable distance from our Baltimore, MD office. Under general supervision, independently provides assistance for the safe, secure, and compliant operation of public transportation systems. Performs routine assignments which are clearly defined and require the application of standard analysis and planning techniques, procedures, and criteria to evaluate risks, develop mitigation strategies, ensure regulatory compliance, and support system safety and security programs for rail, bus, and other transit modes. Assignments may involve some unusual or difficult problems requiring job knowledge and abilities beyond entry level. Interfaces with clients and is able to work in multi-disciplinary teams and follow multiple priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Engineering, Emergency Management, Planning, Criminal Justice, or related field.
  • 0-3 years of professional experience in safety & security and/or transportation planning or design.
  • Demonstrated interest in security & safety through applied academic coursework, prior work experience, or internships.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and project management software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and as part of a team.
  • Ability to independently travel to client work sites for an extended time as needed.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must reside within commuting distance of the Baltimore, MD office.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing analysis details and outlines, technical specifications, studies and reports, project documents, and provides support of broader security and safety activities.
  • Conduct safety and security risk assessments, hazard analyses, threat and vulnerability assessments, and safety certifications for transit projects and operations.
  • Conduct field inspections, audits, and assessments of stations, maintenance facilities, right-of-way, and operations.
  • Assist with emergency management planning, drills, tabletop exercises, and continuity planning.
