About The Position

We are hiring - Security Response Officer Starting wage: $17.00-$20.00/hour, DOE. Job type: Full-time Shift: Swing (3-11pm) – specifics to be discussed in interview and/or at an offer stage. Training: Alternatives provides thorough orientation and training for all new staff. You can expect a one-week orientation, where you will learn all about Alternatives and be prepared for taking on your role. After completing orientation, you will undergo a one-week specialized training for your role, in conjunction with an HR trainer. These first two weeks are 9am-5pm Monday-Friday, you will then move into your offered schedule after that.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in security, military, and/or corrections work.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass federal drug screen process and background check.
  • Strong teamwork mindset.
  • Flexibility to take on various duties as needed.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Clear documentation skills.
  • Capability to respond effectively to occasional emergencies.

Nice To Haves

  • Corrections experience being a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and document security operations and incidents involving residents.
  • Assist and occasionally work as a Client Advisor, helping with unit monitoring and other security functions.
  • Assume various duties as needed, including monitoring secured units.
  • Respond to all requests for assistance and emergencies.
  • Monitor and regulate resident movement.
  • Maintain a security presence and order.
  • Patrol the facility campus and perimeter.
  • Perform Client Advisor duties such as headcounts, pat-downs, searches, and checking residents in and out of the facility.
  • Ensure the safety of staff and residents is always the top priority.

Pro Rata Basis: Accrual rates for employees working 20-30 hours per week are on a pro rata basis.
