About The Position

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, including data centers and all associated equipment. This team is dedicated to keeping the cloud running and tackling challenging problems with numerous variables impacting the supply chain. The role involves joining a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. Collaboration across AWS is essential to deliver high standards for safety and security, while providing scalable capacity at the lowest possible cost for customers. Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Amazon.com serve customers and developers globally, who rely on secure storage, compute, and other services. Customer data security is a fundamental guarantee for AWS businesses. The AWS Infrastructure Physical Security team is seeking a highly talented and motivated Physical Security System Project Manager and Technology Expert to lead physical security projects. This position will manage data center physical security systems and projects, interpreting Threat Assessments and AWS Physical Security Standards to select appropriate security mitigations for unique challenges in each area. The successful candidate will collaborate with AWS architectural and engineering teams to ensure each data center meets AWS's high standards for physical security. After implementation, this position will ensure local security teams possess the technical knowledge and resources necessary to achieve the physical security mission. Candidates must be at least 18 years old. For this GovCloud region, selected candidates require US Citizenship or equivalent status, as logical access to the AWS GovCloud region is restricted to Amazon employees who are U.S. Citizens and cannot be accessed from outside of the United States.

Requirements

  • Experience acting as a Program Security Officer, Security Specialist, or Security Manager with duties including interpreting and implementing requirements within the personnel, industrial, and physical security disciplines and overseeing security operations.
  • Considered candidates should be at least 18 years old.
  • As this is a GovCloud region, selected candidate requires US Citizenship or equivalent status.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working on physical security design and implementation of Access Control/Intrusion Detection and CCTV Surveillance systems

Responsibilities

  • Manage installation of approved physical security system hardware, including, but not limited to, access control devices, intrusion detection devices, CCTV, and other components of physical security systems.
  • Design of physical security system for new construction, expansion and retrofit projects.
  • Preparation of security design standards, typical drawings, and technical specification documents for projects for the purposes of pricing by approved vendors. Review and provide quality assurance of vendor quotes. Submission of complete and accurate vendor quote packages to the Infrastructure Technical Project Manager for inclusion in project requisitions.
  • Project management of multiple, concurrent security system installation projects and vendors.
  • Subject Matter Expert for physical security system testing and acceptance, and assuring operational readiness at project completion.
  • Preparation and archiving of project close-out documentation.
  • Reporting vendor performance metrics regarding system installation, service delivery, and equipment availability / reliability.
