About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Professional Seasonal Flex Officer to serve and safeguard clients across industries including healthcare, education, and finance. Officers can use the company’s shift-pickup platform to view and claim open shifts based on availability, gaining experience at different sites. The role may involve irregular shifts with little to no advance notice. Seasonal schedules, open availability, and weekend work are required. The position is located in Los Angeles, California, and pays $21.60 per hour.

Requirements

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or have 5 years of verifiable experience.
• Must have a valid California Guard Card.
• Licensing requirements may apply before employment, subject to state and local laws and regulations.
• Must have a valid driver’s license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
• Must be at least 18 years of age, or older if required by the state; 21 years of age if armed.
• Must be reliable and able to adapt to different post assignments.
• Must be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Must demonstrate the ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Must have effective oral and written communication skills and be able to write informatively, clearly, and accurately.
• Must have active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to assess and evaluate situations and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Must be able to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Must demonstrate teamwork and attention to detail.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• No prior experience is required.
• Open availability and weekend work are required.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in the event of a fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal follows client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
