As a Security Professional - Full-Time Access Control in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Security Officer with Allied Universal supporting a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help to deter security-related incidents by monitoring access control points and patrolling assigned areas. Your presence and attentive service will contribute to a secure environment for staff and visitors. You will engage with individuals entering the facility, verify credentials, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism. Requirements

At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
A Transportation Security Administration issued Transportation Worker Identification Credential is required.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
A guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
Control access at entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized entry and maintain a secure environment within the logistics and distribution location.
Verify credentials of personnel, visitors, and vehicles entering and exiting the premises in accordance with established protocols.
Monitor security-related systems, including cameras and alarms, to help to deter and respond to suspicious activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following company and client protocols.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and monitor for irregularities.
Document and report all security-related activities, incidents, and irregularities to the appropriate Allied Universal representatives and/or site management.
Maintain a strong visible presence to help to deter potential issues and provide reassurance for employees and visitors at the location.
