About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a temporary Security Professional Flex Officer for retail security assignments in Aventura, Florida, at $20 per hour. The officer will help safeguard clients and may work across varied sites and industries. Officers use a shift-pickup platform to view and claim open shifts based on availability, and may be called to work irregular shifts with little or no advance notice. The position provides hands-on site experience and opportunities for career growth.

The role involves patrolling assigned areas, monitoring for safety and security concerns, controlling access, responding to incidents and emergencies, preparing reports and logs, and assisting customers, employees, and visitors professionally.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• Meet applicable state and local licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.
• Valid driver’s license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
• Be at least 18 years old, or older if required by state law; 21 years old if armed.
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write informatively, clearly, and accurately.
• Active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Ability to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Teamwork and attention to detail.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen.
• No prior experience is required.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police or fire departments in response to fires or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft and ensure authorized removal of property follows client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
