About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Professional Flex Officer to serve and safeguard clients across industries such as healthcare, education, and finance. Officers use a shift-pickup platform to view and claim open shifts according to their availability, gaining experience across different sites. The role may involve irregular shifts with little or no advance notice. The posting lists a swing shift and a pay rate of $19.00 per hour. Applicants must have a current California Guard Card with training certificates and be able to walk and stand for the entire shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• Current California Guard Card with training certificates.
• Valid driver’s license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
• At least 18 years of age, or older if required by state law; 21 years of age if armed.
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write informatively, clearly, and accurately.
• Active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Ability to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Teamwork and attention to detail.
• Ability to walk and stand for the entire shift.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation and drug screen, to the extent permitted by law.
• No prior experience is required.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic; bilingual ability is noted as a plus.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or the presence of unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removal of property complies with client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
