Job Summary: Security Officer: This role is essential to ensuring the safety and security of our staff, visitors, and premises. The ideal candidate is disciplined, vigilant, and committed to providing a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in the operation and management of security systems.
  • Previous training and hands-on experience in security or facility protection.
  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License and a minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Experience with access control systems, CCTV monitoring, Access control systems
  • Strong ability to manage and mediate conflicts in a professional and calm manner.
  • CPR certification and readiness to respond in emergency situations.
  • Excellent coordination, alertness, and the ability to remain focused for extended periods.
  • Demonstrated commitment to reliability, discipline, and professional demeanor.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Computer skills, including Word and spreadsheets; excellent communication skills; proficient in writing reports

Responsibilities

  • Monitor inbound and outbound traffic in accordance with internal traffic regulations.
  • Patrol the perimeter and interior areas of the facility, identifying and addressing any unusual or suspicious activity.
  • Assist employees and visitors with courtesy and professionalism, proactively addressing issues to ensure safety and a positive experience.
  • Conduct bag and carry-on luggage checks for visitors to prevent unauthorized items from entering or leaving the premises.
  • Issue Access Cards when required according to the Access Control Policy
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies such as fire, medical incidents, or evacuation scenarios, following all established protocols.
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation of incidents and report directly to the Office Manager.
  • Uphold a high standard of work discipline, punctuality, and presence throughout all shifts.
  • Participate in rotating shift work, including day, afternoon, and overnight shifts.
