Requirements

  • Able to speak fluent English

Nice To Haves

  • Previous unarmed security experience preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures and protocols
  • Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills
  • Able to work very well under stress
  • Able to maintain professionalism and commitment to customer service

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a safe environment for The Cliffs Hotel & Spa staff and guests by being a visible presence in all areas of the hotel property
  • Monitors and controls access to the property's entrances and exits, ensuring only authorized individuals enter the property and checking for wristbands when required for entry
  • Regularly patrols the property, including but not limited to restaurant, hotel, grounds and parking lot
  • If designated to be stationed, remain a consistent and visible presence at the specified location as directed
  • Observes people and surroundings to uncover and detect suspicious activity
  • Deters unsafe incidents by providing exceptional service while enforcing company procedures
  • Uses de-escalation techniques to manage conflicts and ensure safety for self and others
  • Takes accurate notes of unusual occurrences and reports to manager on duty immediately
  • Responds quickly to incidents, gathering information and documentation in partnership with Front Office Supervisors or MOD
  • Communicates effectively with other departments, including Valet, Food & Beverage, Banquets, and Sales team, and law enforcement as needed
  • Maintains professional and gracious attitude with others, while demonstrating integrity at all times
  • Follow Cliffs policies and procedures, including those for safety/security, while enforcing all local and state regulations
  • Comply fully and consistently with all the hotel conditions of employment and standards of uniform, grooming, and safety measures
  • Assists in emergency and security procedures as directed by the employee manual and the established emergency plan
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by manager
