About The Position

Empower AI is seeking a Security Operations / Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) Analyst for an exciting opportunity at the Department of State. This role is crucial for ensuring the customer's IT environments are updated and current to support the mission of providing IT services to Department of State users enterprise-wide. The analyst will be responsible for creating and maintaining standardized secure installation guides for various software components, providing security operations support with a focus on operational security administration and SIEM, and supporting the implementation, configuration, and administration of SIEM processes and tools. Additionally, the role involves supporting the development and management of security solutions to address specific threats and vulnerabilities, as well as performing patch management and security update operations to maintain compliance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience
• Bachelor's in IT or related field
• Security+ certification
• Splunk or SIEM platform Certification(s)
• Secret Security Clearance

Nice To Haves

• ITIL 4 Foundation Certification(s)

Responsibilities

• Creates and maintains standardized secure installation guides for operating systems, databases, virtual machines, and other configurable software based on DoS and other Federal configuration guides (e.g., Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)) or best industry practices for Government approval.
• Provides security operations support focusing on operational security administration and SIEM.
• Supports the implementation, configuration, and administration of SIEM processes and tools in the CA environment.
• Supports the development, engineering, configuration, implementation, and/or management of security solutions for addressing specific threats, vulnerabilities, or exposures in the environment requested by the Government.
• Performs patch management and security update operations support to maintain operating environment compliance.
