About The Position

Reporting to the Post Supervisor, the Security Operations Center Officer is a vital team member providing security services to various clients of GSSC. The Security Operations Center Officer is responsible for performing a variety of tasks per the needs of the client, which include monitoring of multiple sites via access control and camera systems, responding to appropriate authorities when breeches are notified and verified, and thorough documentation of all findings and investigations of incidents. Some additional duties may include interior/exterior tours of the main facility, responding to emergency situations and notifying appropriate response entities, and providing a high level of observation and reporting duties.

Requirements

  • Must have a High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • A US Citizen or Alien lawfully authorized to work in the United States
  • Must pass Identification Verification, State & Federal background checks
  • Ability to meet and maintain applicable state, county, and municipal licensing requirements
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), administrative, customer service and organizational skills
  • Must successfully complete GSSC Basic Training
  • Must be able to complete required NERC – CIP Training as required by customer.
  • Computer skills must be proficient with camera systems, access control systems, alarm systems, basic Microsoft applications as well i.e. word, excel.
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking
  • Ability to project a professional and positive attitude while maintaining confidentiality

Nice To Haves

  • Valid driver’s license and clear driving record
  • 1 or more years working in a dispatch / monitoring center type environment.
  • 1 or more years of experience in the security, law enforcement, or military industries
  • Military, Veteran, Law Enforcement, Corrections or Security related experience

Responsibilities

  • Monitors Camera, Access Control, and Alarm systems and provides appropriate response when unusual circumstances and or unusual findings are discovered or are alerted.
  • Ensures all Camera, Access Control, and Alarm systems are functioning properly and notifying appropriate personnel if non-functioning equipment is discovered.
  • Observes and reports activities and incidents at multiple sites owned and or operated by the client, providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel.
  • Patrols assigned site on foot; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
  • Enforces required security regulations and procedures pursuant to Post Orders and or the Facility Security Plan pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
  • Responds to client inquiries in an expeditious manner.
  • Reacts appropriately, promptly and in accordance with Post Orders in emergency situations.
  • Generates clear and concise written reports of shift activities.
  • Creates a positive working environment and strong teamwork.
  • Ensures compliance with all GSSC policies and procedures, federal regulations, state statutes, and specifications per client contracts.
  • Interacts professionally and engages with client personnel, vendors, contractors and members of the public.
  • Provides excellent customer service
