About The Position

The Security Officer position is a Regular Full-Time role located in Cripple Creek, CO. The primary responsibility is to protect the assets of the casino, its customers, and team members. This involves responding promptly to security assistance requests, maintaining good public relations, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including the Colorado Limited Gaming Act and company policies. The role requires maintaining a clean and safe work environment, performing duties in compliance with safety procedures, and identifying/reporting unsafe conditions. Security Officers investigate incidents, escort money/asset transfers, patrol casino properties, and report policy violations. They must maintain alertness, exercise caution, and evaluate circumstances for appropriate responses, seeking guidance from supervisors when needed. The role also involves responding to and controlling emergencies to minimize risk. Additional duties include verifying jackpots and fills, operating surveillance systems to monitor for violations and ensure safety, and making recommendations for surveillance coverage. Communication with staff via two-way radio is essential for prompt assistance. Incident investigations may involve reviewing videotapes, and maintaining an accurate activity log is required. A comprehensive "close watch" may be performed when necessary. The position requires maintaining technical knowledge of surveillance systems and evaluating performance of responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid and current State of Colorado Gaming License.
  • Must be at least eighteen years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Protect the assets of the casino, as directed.
  • Protect casino customers and team members, as directed.
  • Respond promptly to requests from customers and team members for security assistance.
  • Maintain good public relations consistently and diplomatically with casino customers and team members.
  • Perform duties in compliance with local, state, and federal laws and the Colorado Limited Gaming Act.
  • Comply with, maintain, and inform customers and team members of safety and security policies and procedures, House Policies and Procedures and the Colorado Division of Gaming Rules and Regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform duties in compliance with safety procedures, which includes the use of safety equipment.
  • Follow safety procedures, identifying unsafe practices or conditions, and informing their supervisor or the Safety Committee of unsafe conditions, as directed.
  • Follow established security protocols to ensure that casino work environments are safe.
  • Receive technical direction and guidance from the Security Lead.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships and good customer service skills with all customers and team members.
  • Investigate incidents by asking questions, takes and analyzes statements, secures and reports evidence, as directed, and makes an accurate record of all investigations.
  • Escort the transfer of money/assets throughout the casino frequently during a shift and, when required, assists by lifting or carrying money/assets to designated locations.
  • Monitor transfers and reports any concerns to the supervisor.
  • Patrol all Century Casino properties, including customer vehicles, and shuttles, and to ensure the safety and security of customers and team members and compliance with casino security policies and procedures, as directed.
  • Report violations of casino security policies and procedures, as directed.
  • Maintain alertness for the performance of all responsibilities, and prior to taking action, exercises caution and evaluates circumstances for appropriate security or safety response.
  • Seek supervision and guidance from the security team leader, as needed or directed.
  • Respond to and control emergencies immediately and acts to minimize risk to casino customers and team members.
  • Perform other duties, including special projects, as needed, and directed.
  • Be an independent verifier for jackpots and fills.
  • Operate surveillance systems to observe and monitor casino customers and team members for any violations of the Colorado Gaming Act or company standards and procedures, reports violations as required, and acts to ensure the safety and security of all CUSTOMERS and TEAM MEMBERS.
  • Maintain technical knowledge of surveillance systems through training on component design and repair.
  • Make recommendations to the Surveillance Manager/Lead on additional coverage that might be needed in specific areas.
  • Communicate with staff members through two-way radio communications and ensures prompt responses for security or emergency assistance.
  • Provide Procedural Violation Reports to Security Supervisor/Manager.
  • Perform incident investigations by reviewing and analyzing videotapes, and reports findings to management staff as directed.
  • Maintain an accurate and chronological activity log, as directed.
  • Perform a comprehensive "close watch" of any casino activity, guest, or staff member, when necessary, requested, or required.
  • Maintain and evaluate the performance of all responsibilities, and before acting, exercises caution and evaluates circumstances for appropriate security or safety response.
  • Seek supervision and guidance from the Surveillance Manager, as needed or directed.
