As an Unarmed Security Officer supporting a government services location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service and communication to visitors and staff. Requirements

  • Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least one year of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government-operated homeless services location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site personnel and/or emergency responders as directed by policy.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, entrances, common areas, exterior perimeter, and surrounding grounds to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points, verify authorized entry as directed, and maintain awareness of visitor, resident, and staff activity while treating all individuals with professionalism and respect.
  • Prepare clear, accurate reports and shift documentation regarding incidents, patrols, observations, and other security-related activities.
