About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Professional Flex Officer to serve and safeguard clients across industries including healthcare, education, and finance. Officers use a shift-pickup platform to view and claim open shifts according to their availability, gaining experience at different sites. The position may involve irregular shifts with little or no advance notice. The advertised rate is $24.30 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• Security licensing may be required before employment depending on state and local laws and regulations.
• Valid driver’s license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
• Must be at least 18 years old, or older if required by the state; 21 years old if armed.
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write informatively, clearly, and accurately.
• Active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations, and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Ability to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Teamwork and attention to detail.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation and drug screen, as permitted by law.
• No prior experience is required.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in the event of a fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn people of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized people to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal complies with client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as required by site Post Orders.
