As a Security Officer Checkpoint Specialist in Mechanicsville, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Screener at a busy logistics and distribution location, helping support a smooth and professional entry experience. In this role, you will monitor access points, screen visitors and team members, and respond to security-related concerns with strong customer service and communication. As part of a caring, agile, and reliable team, you will help uphold site standards through integrity, teamwork, and a people-first approach.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Screen employees, visitors, packages, and/or vehicles entering or exiting the location in accordance with site protocols and reporting requirements.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, and document screening activity, unusual conditions, and/or incidents in a clear and timely manner.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to site leadership and/or emergency services when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help identify unusual activity, unsecured areas, and/or policy concerns.
