About The Position

Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Monroe/West Monroe is seeking full-time Security Officers to work the night shift (6:45pm to 7:15am). The facility is an 82-bed hospital specializing in acute psychiatric disorders and illnesses in adults aged 21 and up. The Security Officer's primary role is to ensure the safety and security of the premises, staff, and visitors by maintaining order, assisting staff with challenging patient behaviors, and preventing criminal activity. The ideal candidate will be professional, observant, and capable of inspiring respect and authority.

Requirements

Proven experience as security officer, military personnel, or corrections officers.
Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety.
Familiarity with report writing.
Excellent surveillance and observation skills.
High School diploma is required.

Responsibilities

Maintain a high visibility presence to promote safety and mitigate risks.
Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence.
Secure all exits, doors and windows.
Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation and intervening if necessary.
Submit reports of daily surveillance activity including any incidents that may occur.
Assist staff with aggressive, and/or verbal behavior.
Maintain compliance with statutory or establishment rules and processes.
Detect any suspicious behavior and prevent vandalism, thefts or other criminal behavior on company premises.
