About The Position

As a Security Officer in Sulphur, LA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a chemical/petrochemical location, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and help maintain a secure environment for personnel and visitors. You will provide professional customer service, communicate clearly, and respond to security-related concerns while supporting site operations. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Possess 1+ years of law enforcement experience OR 2+ years of security-related supervisor/manager experience OR 3+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Able to lift up to 20 lbs preferred.
  • Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel, visitors, contractors, and vendors while carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Verify authorized access credentials, review visitor and contractor documentation, issue and collect access badges, and maintain accurate entry and exit records in accordance with site requirements.
  • Monitor access points, gates, and assigned areas for unauthorized entry, unusual activity, and policy violations; report observations through established communication channels.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned chemical and petrochemical facility areas, including the perimeter, access points, parking areas, and restricted locations, to help deter unauthorized activity.
