Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at an educational location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting unusual activity to site leadership when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout classrooms, studios, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify maintenance or access concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and authorized access points, verify credentials when required, and assist with visitor directions and general inquiries.
  • Support campus operations during events, after-hours activity, and/or schedule changes by maintaining a visible presence and communicating clearly with staff, students, and first responders as appropriate.
